Valcalepio Rosso is the blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Its grapes are vinified separately because of their different period of ripening while the wines are blended during winter. This phase is followed by the ageing in large oak casks (25 hl); after that the wine is bottled and taken in the cellar for the refinement process. This is a bright ruby red wine. It has an intence clearly fruity nose while on the palate it shows elegant and silky tannins. It is the best coupling to red meat, roasts, noble poultry, game and cheese.
Open the bottle an hour early and taste at about 18° C in wide glasses.
